Title:  Cell phone irritation
Current mood:    irritated

I don't think I am really fond of cell phones.  I have one, but I only got it originally because I could do so through the auto club and intended it for emergency use if my car crapped out and I needed help.
I use it infrequently now just to call relatives and if I have to for contacting someone for work. I rarely actually get calls on the phone and have never gone over my allotted free minutes. Never even come close to going over.
But it irritates me that there are times when I do call someone on their cell phone and they don't answer. What is the point of having a phone you are carrying with you all the time if you aren't going to answer it? Hell, I could call you at home or work and just leave a message if that is all you want to get instead of talking to a person.
And the real annoyance in cell phones for me is Nextel.
What the hell is up with those phones? Is this an ego thing? Do the people who have these phones really think every one around them wants to listen to their conversation?
Here they stand with their phones, holding them at arm's length and talking loudly into them. Then there is that irritating BEEP and we hear the person on the other end of the line squawking back at them.
Here's a message for those people. "I don't give a damn about what you are saying or how important you think you are or your call is. Get a real cell phone, go to a quiet place and talk in private!"
